Sales and Membership Manager
fixed term 9-12 month contract
Westwoods Health Club at Fettes, an independent, award winning health club, located in central Edinburgh is now recruiting for an experienced Sales and Membership Manager to join our team based on a fixed term maternity contract. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering sales targets having worked in a sales based role within the leisure sector.
The key objective of the position is to deliver our monthly/annual sales target whilst actively developing and managing our retention processes. The candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all sales and membership activities within the Club. This includes, the training and development of staff, generation and management of prospects to achieve sales targets, touring prospective members, liaising with local businesses in order to generate corporate contacts, assisting the senior management team in the generation of marketing concepts and campaigns. You will be also become a trained Duty Manager where you will be asked to work one Duty Manager shift per week.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a supervisory role
Education, Qualifications and Training
- Sales, business or leisure related degree qualification
Skills, Ability and Knowledge
- Sales experience in a leisure based environment
- Understand the relationship between sales and the retention process
- Target driven
- Good knowledge of health clubs and Edinburgh market
- Delivery of sales training including price presentation, objection training and tour process
- Excellent communication and networking skills
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- Ability to motivate others
- Confident in the use of Microsoft packages
Terms of contract
The successful candidate will be available to start in the position in Mid-November where they will work alongside our current Sales and Membership Manager for a period of approximately one month. The contract itself is based on a fixed term 9-12 month contract. After this period, Westwoods will review current vacancies within the club and alternative roles may be available.
A flexible approach to hours of work will be required to meet the demands of the business. These will include working a shift rota encompassing evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
